Come Dine in the company of Sporting Greats

Britain, pioneer of many of the world’s most popular sports, is uniquely rich in sporting heroes – many of whom are immortalised in sculptures and memorials around the British Isles.

These heroes in bronze are celebrated in a beautifully illustrated book, Immortals of British Sport which is a fascinating and often surprising journey in discovery of these diverse and inspiring monuments commemorating those heroes who have shaped our sporting history.

Edgbaston Priory Club is delighted to welcome the author, Ian Hewitt, and photographer, Sampson Lloyd, as guests of our Supper Club on 13th November.  Ian and Sampson will take guests on a fascinating tour of our illustrious sporting history.

There will also be an opportunity to purchase copies of the book which will make a perfect Christmas present.

Ian was a partner for more than 25 years in a leading international law firm. A former county tennis player, he sits on the management committee of the Wimbledon Championships and is a member of the Public Monuments and Sculpture Association.

Sampson Lloyd trained in theatre design before becoming an art teacher. He has been a successful freelance photographer for many years and is the official photographer at the British Military Tournament in London.

Tickets for the event cost £25 which includes a three course meal and glass of wine on arrival.  Drinks will be served from 7.00pm and Dinner served at 7.30pm.
