Thursday 7th September marked a great day for our Bridge Club. A fundraiser event to raise awareness of Motor Neurone Disease was held at Edgbaston Priory Club with some fantastic results!
£1705 was raised for this event with all proceeds going to the MNDA. Players of different strengths and abilities joined to participate in games of Bridge. Jill Turner was the overall individual winner of the charity event with 3,320 points. She was also part of the winning team, scoring a total of 8,960 points with her team – ‘Mark’s Molls’ with her team mates Mark and Janice Wainwright and Caroline Faulconbridge.
There was a fantastic range of prizes donated for the event, including an Ipad donated by member Jan Rodrigo – won by Judy Taylor, a delicious bridge cake – decorated by Jan Weston, tickets to the 2018 Birmingham Classic donated by Edgbaston Priory Club and some gift vouchers from local companies and businesses.
Bridge Club is planning to make this an annual event, raising money and awareness for a different charity each year. To find out more about the MND Association and how you can offer your support, click here.
