Schools Tournament

Over the past two weeks Edgbaston Priory Club has been taken over by young school children in two inter schools competitions involving over 30 children from 7 invited schools from the local area.

The first competition was held on Wednesday 4th November for year 1 pupils.  The children are put through their paces in a 10 minute warm up to get them ready for co-ordination games, ball skills activities and rallying skills all under the watchful eyes of the Edgbaston Priory coaching team.

All children score points for their school through completing different tasks. After a fantastic afternoon the year one competition draws to a close with a surprise victory going to first time contestants in the competition St Mary’s just edging out Hallfield, Harborne and Priory school.

A week later it was the turn of the year two pupils, with even more athletic ability and co-ordination on show it was going to be a close competition to take the title back to school. After an hour and a half of dedication from the children it was time for the presentation and the year one reigning champions Harborne took the honours edging out their two closest rivals Hallfield and Priory school.

All children received information regarding the junior programme on offer at Edgbaston Priory and we look forward to seeing them playing in the future and maybe even becoming the next Andy Murray!!

We would also like to thank FILA for all of the prizes on the day.
